Car of the Month - Bentley T Series

W.O. Bentley and his brother Horace Milner Bentley established Bentley Motors Ltd. in August 1919 and the first car was produced in 1921. With many of the cars still on the road today, we are celebrating with a car of the month and to begin this new feature, we will look at the iconic Bentley T Series.

This website is a perfect example of Bentley history combined with care about the future. We have undertaken this massive task of digitalising every page of every manual in the history of the company to make sure that none of Bentley' s original bloodline is lost. Over 80% of the cars we' ve ever built are still on the road, so we had to make sure that when needed, you can find technical information about every iconic heritage Bentley.

We have now given you an innovative way to access the Bentley archive of parts catalogues with one click of a mouse, but we are not stopping there. Our commitment to support the range of Bentley and Crewe-built Rolls-Royce models means we are constantly increasing the amount of information we provide, and now we are pleased to announce that the catalogues for models dating back to 1977 are online.

This complex job involved a taskforce of people who have Bentley imprinted in their DNA and a real passion for what they do; who know the history of Bentley and have technical knowledge about the complete model range. Heritage is extremely important at Bentley Motors, and the company is proud of its commitment to support all Bentley and Crewe-built models built from 1955-2002. Creating a website which would help you search for genuine parts for those models was a huge task for everyone involved.
The process to scan, digitise, log and catalogue thousands of pages from the original catalogues was immense itself. But that was not the only hurdle: factor in the complication in some cases of the original pages being so damaged and stained that they could not be read.

The Drive Behind Our Website

For the first time ever, you now have access to an in-depth electronic parts catalogue for heritage models. This project, which offers information about parts for Bentley and Crewe-built Rolls-Royce models, has been a complex task for all the Heritage Team (not least Terry Lee, the Bentley Heritage Parts Manager)– but hugely rewarding nonetheless.
